Various Machines Turned to Art
You would probably think that something broken and useless would better end up as junk. However, there are those who thought these already used appliances can still be purposeful somehow. Not in the museum, mind you, but as masterpieces.
Here is a run-down of some of the popular ones.
1. Old Mobile Phones Assembled in a Circle
This is not the formal name of this piece that features these devices arranged in a circle and closely packed together. If you would see it, you would probably get the idea that a lot of things have changed in the past decade. This does not apply only to an individual person, but the whole of society as well.
2. Typewriter Robot
These obsolete office devices were torn down to their basic parts to form this humanoid figure. Because of the harmony of the various parts used, you would never think how many machines were used to form it.
3. Virus Representations
Salvaged parts from old personal computers were combined to form an image of this disease-forming organism. The good thing about it is that you will not get sick because of it.
4. Sneakers
The accuracy of the details in this piece is definitely amazing since you can really see the harmony of all the parts. But it is wrong to think that you can wear it too, as it weighs 15 pounds.
5. Moving Animals
One good thing about these things is the movement that they can do. In fact, the creator made some good footage using these. I’m sure you can imagine a zoo formed out of these.
6. The WEEE man
To raise environmental awareness in all of the UK, one artist combined all appliances to form this sculpture, making sure it weighed 3.3 tons. Why? He did it to make sure that the average amount of electronic waste of a citizen all his life is emphasised properly.
7. Road Runner in New Mexico
You might be able to see this sculpture when you drop by that state. It is made of different appliance parts and is so big that you would think that growth serum was poured on the animal.
